In light of the continuous Israeli aggression against Al Aqsa Mosque and the legendary steadfastness of Palestinian worshippers in the Muslim compound, head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh stated the following:

First: I reiterated to all sides I contacted, including our Arab brothers, that the Israeli occupation does not respect any commitments and that it has to cease its heinous aggression on Jerusalem, Al Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, as well as it has to bear responsibility for its repercussions.

Second: We assure our Palestinian people and Ummah that we will not accept the Israeli plans to be implemented in Jerusalem. Field action and resistance will continue to prevent the Israeli occupation and settlers from achieving their goals.

Third: We will continue to rally support for Jerusalem and its Palestinian population at the political, diplomatic, media and humanitarian levels to reinforce their steadfastness.

Fourth: The Palestinian resistance is ready and motivated and will not remain silent if the Israeli occupation did not backtrack and put an end to its devilish schemes.

Fifth: I salute the heroic Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem who are defending Al Aqsa Mosque and their city. Go on and do not stop; you have the support of the Palestinian people, the Arab and Muslim world, and the free people around the world.
