On the retaliation of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza to Israeli aggression in Jerusalem, Hamas Spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum stated the following:

We salute the Joint Operations Room –consists of military wings of Palestinian factions– mainly Al Qassam Brigades, for keeping their promise and responding to the Israeli crimes against Palestinian Jerusalemites and worshippers at Al Aqsa Mosque.

We also hail Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem for standing steadfast and resilient in the face of Israeli aggression against Al Aqsa Mosque and fending off the raids of the Israeli Jewish settlers, protected by Israeli occupation forces.

Targeting Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque and bombing children and civilians in Gaza constitute a serious aggression against the Palestinian people and their holy sites by the Israeli occupation, which has crossed all red lines; we will not hesitate, not even for a moment, to protect the holy city and defend it at any cost.

The Israeli occupation is the one which started the attacks on our Palestinian people in Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood and Al Aqsa Mosque; therefore, it shall bear its consequences and pay the price for it.

The Palestinian resistance, foremost of which Al Qassam Brigades, is defending its people and their holy sites. This is our duty that we will never abandon until ending this aggression.

All Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem, Gaza, the West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 will present a united front in the face of the aggression and face off the Israeli occupation with all means of resistance possible.
