The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned Israeli bombardment of Al Jala Building in Central Gaza City an attempt to suppress mass media.
In this context, Hamas reviewed the claims that surrounded the bombardment of the high-rise building, which included media and commercial offices in addition to residential apartments and found all Israeli claims were fake.
“After reviewing the field reports of the Palestinian interior and information ministry about Israeli crimes against media offices in Al Jala Building, it was found that 27 media offices including Arab and foreign TV and radio stations were totally destroyed,” Khaled Qadomi, Hamas representative to Tehran, said.
“In addition,” he said, “many other offices and residential apartments in the vicinity of the building were partially damaged.”
Qadomi stated that this is an explicitly war crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the free voices of media, stressing that Hamas had no offices in the building.
Meanwhile, Qadomi strongly dennounced Israeli aggression on journalists formost the heinous murder of journalist Yousef abu Huseein.
Qadomi called for the international community to protect journalists in Gaza and put an end to the Israeli crimes against innocent people.
