Chairman of Hamas’s political bureau Khaled Mishaal has phoned the Palestinian captive Mohammed al-Qeiq and his family, and congratulated them on his victory against his jailers after a hunger strike that lasted 94 days.

In a speech he delivered over the phone during a celebration ceremony held in Dura, al-Qeiq’s hometown, Mishaal hailed al-Qeiq’s historic steadfastness, adding that his victory represents a significant milestone in the Palestinian struggle for liberation.

“This victory is a triumph for the Palestinian people and for our prisoners in particular,” he further stated.

On his part, Deputy Head of Hamas's political bureau Ismail Haniya hailed al-Qeiq’s resolute determination, stressing that he was fighting the occupation on behalf of the Palestinian people and prisoners.

“This victory proves that this occupation can be defeated,” he underlined.
