Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh, along with a senior Hamas delegation, met on Monday afternoon with Cheikh Ould Baya, chairman of Mauritania's National Assembly, in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott.

The parliament speaker reaffirmed the Mauritanian people's full support for the Palestinian people and their just cause in all forums and throughout all stages of their struggle. 

"The Palestinian cause is close to the hearts of the Mauritanian people, who always not only express their solidarity with it but also their connection to it," Baya stressed.  

Haniyeh, hailed the Mauritanian president, parliament, and people for their stances in support of the Palestinian people. 

The Hamas head, in addition, addressed the political changes resulting from the "Sword of Al-Quds" battle. 

He stressed the popular protests held across the Arab countries, including Mauritania, in solidity with the Palestinian people reinforce their steadfastness and resilience in the face of the Israeli occupation.
