On Honduras’s decision to open its embassy in occupied Jerusalem, Hamas stated the following: 
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas denounces on Thursday Honduras’s decision to open its embassy in occupied Jerusalem in a move that violates international law, which confirms that Jerusalem is an occupied city. 
This move is an appalling infringement on the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. 
We call on Honduras to immediately backtrack on such a step and abide by international law and consensus that refused the relocation of US embassy to Jerusalem. 
We urge the Central American nation to support the just Palestinian cause and the Palestinians’ genuine rights to freedom and independence.
