Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh met on Monday morning with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace near Beirut.
During the meeting, his Excellency reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to its constant positions in support of the Palestinian cause and against the resettlement of Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees, hailing the “unique” role played by the Palestinian resistance in the “Sword of Al-Quds” battle.
Haniyeh, in return, expressed his appreciation to Lebanon’s role in support of the Palestinian cause at the official and popular levels, praising the “national” role performed by Lebanon and its people during the “Sword of Al-Quds” battle.
The head of Hamas politburo reiterated that Hamas is open to all regional and international parties.
Haniyeh briefed Aoun on the latest political and field developments following the “Sword of Al-Quds” battle and the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinians due to Israeli measures and restrictions.
He voiced his gratitude to the “positive” role played by Lebanon on several occasions to unify the Palestinian position, reiterating his movement’s willingness to cooperate with any step to achieve national unity and end the intra-Palestinian division.
Haniyeh affirms the Palestinians’ commitment to their right of return to their homeland and their rejection of resettlement of Palestinian refugees or granting them an alternative homeland.
