Head of Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and the movement’s senior delegation visited this morning, Monday, June 28, 2021, the excellency of the Lebanese caretaker government, Dr. Hassan Diab, at the Grand Serail in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

His excellency welcomed the visit of the Hamas delegation, praising the heroic steadfastness and victory achieved by the Palestinian people during the last battle with the Israeli occupation, and affirmed Lebanon's adherence to the national historical position in support of the Palestinian cause.

For his part, the head of Hamas Political Bureau valued Lebanon's official and popular position in support of the Palestinian cause, stressing the Palestinian people's rejection of all colonial projects, displacement, and the alternative homeland, and that Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are guests in this honorable country.

Haniyeh said that the battle of "Sword of al-Quds" came as a natural response to the occupation’s aggression against the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem and the worshipers in the blessed Al-Aqsa, stressing that the resistance is the only option to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Palestine and to protect the Palestinian people from the oppression and crimes of the occupation.

The Palestinian leader stressed his movement's keenness to complete the Palestinian reconciliation and unify the Palestinian position to confront the Israeli occupation, stressing that the unity of the position is the first field step to victory over the Israeli occupation.

Haniyeh called on the Lebanese government to facilitate the lives of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon who share with their Lebanese families and brothers hopes and pains and to grant them human and social rights until they return to their homeland they were displaced from due to the Israeli occupation.
