Hamas has denied categorically Egyptian claims linking the Movement to the assassination of Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat back in 2015.

In a press release on Sundy, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri rejected the faulty Egyptian accusations, adding that they are not in harmony with the efforts being exerted to promote the relationship between Hamas and Cairo.

“Hamas calls on all parties in Egypt not to involve Palestinian factions in their internal differences,” he stated.

Egypt’s interior minister Magdy Abdel-Ghaffar had stated in a televised address earlier Sunday that Hamas was involved in the assassination of Egyptian Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat last June.
