Head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, called the family of the Lebanese Mufti Sheikh Khalil al-Mays, condoling them for his death at the age of 80 after a struggle with illness.

the Hamas chief also delivered a speech in the morn over the phone, in which he expressed his deepest condolences on the death of the scholar Sheikh, stressing that Lebanon and the Islamic and Arab nation have lost a brave jurist and scholar who have always defended the Palestinian cause and the resistance, recalling the many religious positions he held over the years of his life as well as his efforts in his religious life issuing fatwas for Muslims.
