Hamas spokesperson Abdullateef Al-Qanoa said that the Arab countries’ objection to granting the Israeli occupation an observer status at the African Union Commission is a step in the right track confirming that Israeli occupation is a rogue state that fuels terrorism and instability in the region. 

The Israeli occupation was granted an observer status by the African Union Commission. But African countries opposed the move and described it as an “unjust and unwarranted decision” taken “unilaterally”. 

Al-Qanoa noted that the Arab countries’ objection requires more support and mobilization on the part of the other Arab countries to press the Commission to backtrack on this move.
