Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh, accompanied by a senior delegation, has met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and congratulated him on his inauguration.
The Hamas officials wished the president success in leading the country. 
The delegation also briefed the Iranian President on developments concerning the Palestinian cause, especially the positive outcomes of the ‘Sword of al-Quds’ battle on the Palestinian freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation. 
Confirming that the Palestinian people are determined to continue their resistance against the Israeli occupation until liberation, independence, and return, Haniyeh also pointed to the Israeli plans targeting the Palestinian people, including settlement and displacement projects, especially in Jerusalem and Sheikh Jarrah Neighbourhood. 
He also briefed his Iranian counterpart on the latest updates relating to the 15-year-long Israeli blockade imposed on Gaza.
The Hamas delegation hailed Iran’s stances in support of the Palestinian people and resistance. 
Raisi, in turn, reiterated the unwavering Iranian position in support of the Palestinian cause and resistance, expressing his admiration for the high spirit of the Palestinians, especially the families of detainees and martyrs, and for the enormous sacrifices made by the Palestinian people.
