Spokesman of Hamas Movement Hazem Qassem stated the following:

The meeting of PA President Mahmoud Abbas with Zionist War Minister Benny Gantz is condemned and rejected by all factions and deviates from the national spirit of our Palestinian people.

Such meetings continue the illusion of the Palestinian Authority's leadership of accomplishing anything for our Palestinian people through the failed compromise path. Rather, this behavior deepens the Palestinian political division and complicates the Palestinian situation.

These meetings between the PA leadership and the occupation encourage some parties in the region to normalize with the occupation and weaken the Palestinian position that rejects normalization.
