Spokesman of Hamas Movement Hazem Qassem stated the following:

We highly appreciate the statements of Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra on the centrality of the Palestinian cause, and the necessity of solidarity with Palestine as the basis of all Arab solidarity.

These statements reflect the true Arab spirit and the genuine national feeling of Algeria.

We also appreciate Minister Ramtane Lamamra's affirmation of his country's refusal to grant the Zionist occupation entity an observer status in the African Union, and Algeria's endeavor to maintain the union's support for the Palestinian cause.
