Hamas movement has sent condolences on the death Asem Al-Ashqar who passed away in Nablus after contracting the coronavirus.

Al-Ashaqr is a prominent Hamas official in the West Bank. 

In a statement, the movement mourned the death of the Hamas official and said that his life was full of hard work for Palestine, labeling him an icon who combined resistance and academic work. 

“He has left 120 research papers in physics and was a full professor at Najah University,” Hamas said in the statement.  

The movement called on all Palestinians to participate in his funeral, as a sign of loyalty and gratitude to the Palestinian scholar.
