The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has criticized the positions of U.S. presidential candidates vis-à-vis the Palestinian cause.

In a press release on Wednesday, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri slammed the racist remarks passed by several U.S. candidates during the run for presidential nomination, in which they praised Israel and asserted their support of the occupation at the expense of Palestinian rights.

“These positions are shameful and utterly provocative to our people and the Arab and Muslim Ummah,” he underlined.

On Monday, the remaining three Republican candidates and Democrat Hillary Clinton had addressed the pro-Israel AIPAC conference, where they sought to cast themselves as strong allies to the Israeli occupation.

In her speech, Clinton vowed enormous military support and to ensure Israel maintains a qualitative military edge, while republican candidate Donald Trump pledged to move the American Embassy Jerusalem.
