On the spike of murders in Arab towns and villages in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa stated the following:

The recent surge in murders among Palestinian citizens of the territories occupied in 1948 is a serious indication. Such crimes, for which the Israeli occupation bears full responsibility, are condemned and deplored.

The Israeli occupation government’s silence and inaction towards such crimes prove that it encourages violence and murders in the Palestinian communities of the territories occupied in 1948 in a bid to undermine their steadfastness and dissolve their internal fabric.

We call on Palestinian citizens of the territories occupied in 1948 to preserve their social fabric and internal unity and face off Israeli schemes inciting violence and crime in the Palestinian society.

We also urge them to seek creative solutions for their disputes and sort out their problems and not to count on the Israeli occupation in this regard. Rather, they must foil the Israeli occupation’s attempts to pass its racist plots aimed to tear down the Palestinian society and sow dissension.
