Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, praised the success of the Shura Council elections in the State of Qatar.

In a letter, Haniyeh sent to Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, saying: “It is our pleasure in Hamas and the Palestinian people to send to Your Highness our highest eloquent congratulations on the occasion of the completion and success of the Shura Council elections.

In his letter, Hamas Chief expressed his appreciation for the efforts and wisdom of the Emir of Qatar in announcing the holding of the Shura Council elections for the first time, in which the Qatari people participated freely and transparently in its achievement.

Haniyeh considered the success and achievement of these elections to reflect the political awareness and civilized behavior of the Qatari people that contribute to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030, and to the active parliamentary presence at the Arab, Islamic and international levels.

Haniyeh concluded his message by reaffirming his deep gratitude for the positions and roles of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle to regain their rights, achieve their freedom, and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
