Member of Hamas political bureau Khalil Al-Hayya said that the movement had presented to the Egyptian officials its vision to restructure the Palestine home during the recent visit to Egypt.

In an interview with the Al-Aqsa TV channel, Al-Hayya explained that Hamas’s vision consists of three elements, the first of which is the reformation of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO).

“If this is not possible now, a national dialogue must be held to form a temporal national leadership that takes the lead at this stage and paves the way to restructure the Palestinian leadership, the PLO, and the Palestinian National Council.”

Concerning the second element, Al-Hayya pointed out that Hamas wants a national strategy that is based on resisting the Israeli occupation and is a gate to the third element: consensus on the fieldwork at all levels.

Answering a question about the movement’s latest visit to Egypt, the Hamas official said that the Hamas delegation discussed many issues with Egyptian counterparts concerning the Palestinian cause, including alleviating the Israeli siege on Gaza and reconstruction.

He added: We discussed the Israeli occupation’s conduct in the West Bank and their violations in Jerusalem and Al-Quds.

“The Egyptian officials promised to push for progress in these issues,” Al-Hayya added.

Prisoner swap deal

Al-Hayya stressed that the Israeli occupation soldiers held captive by the Palestinian resistance would not be released “unless the Israeli occupation pays the required price.”
“The issue of Israeli captives cannot be solved or followed through the media because the Israeli occupation is the only beneficiary of this as it comforts the Israeli society,” al-Hayya added.
As for Palestinian detainees on hunger strike in Israeli occupation prisons, al-Hayya voiced his movement’s support and solidarity with them, warning the Israeli occupation of its “criminal behaviour” against them.

Breaking the Gaza Siege

Member of Hamas politburo said that the movement would take many measures with brokers to pressure the Israeli occupation to lift the Gaza siege.

“Such measures include fishing, trade, exportation, and importation,” Al-Hayya clarified.

The Hamas official pointed out that the movement’s primary concern is securing a decent life for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

“But the movement still follows up on all central issues of our people in Jerusalem or elsewhere,”  Al-Hayya continued.

Concerning the ceasefire, the Hamas official said that the recent ceasefire with the Israeli occupation has “some requirements”, and the Israeli occupation must be prepared to pay the price.

“No ceasefire will be maintained for free,” Al-Hayya confirmed.

Foreign relations
Al-Hayya reiterated that Hamas is open to establishing relations with all foreign entities except for the Israeli occupation.
“Hamas’ relationship with any party is decided by their attitude towards the Palestinian cause,” al-Hayya continued.
Addressing the international community, al-Hayya concluded that the Israeli occupation is a “fragile and immoral entity and racked with internal conflicts.”
