Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh has phoned Gazan families of Abu Rjilah and Al-Farra to offer condolences on death of Anas Abu Rjila and Nasrallah Al-Farra who passed away while migrating to Europe through the Aegean Sea.

Abu Rjilah and Al-Farra passed way last Friday after a raft transferring them to Europe sank in the Aegean Sea between Turkey with Greece.

The Hamas chief offered his condolences to the two families, wishing that they may rest in peace now.

“The two young men, who drowned at sea, are martyrs for the sake of the homeland,” Haniyeh said in the phone call, holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for their demise, as it has been blockading Gaza for more than fifteen years.

The Hamas chief recalled some of the two families sacrifices for the sake of Palestine, especially heroic steadfastness during the 2014 Israeli offensive, when the Israeli occupation murdered eleven persons from Al-Farra family.

Haniyeh emphasised that his movement shows solidarity with the two families, pointing out that Hamas spares no effort to alleviate the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and secure a decent life for Gazans.

But the movement will not allow anyone to take advantage of the difficult circumstances experienced by the Palestinian people to ignite disputes between them, the top Hamas official concluded.
