On the Ninth anniversary of the 2012 aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" issued the following statement:

On this day nine years ago, the criminal Zionist enemy assassinated the commander-in-chief Ahmad al-Jabari, thinking that this cowardly assassination would constitute a state of deterrence to the resistance, but it became a turning point in the Palestinian struggle when the resistance responded directly by targeting Tel Aviv, and the Israeli occupation realized that the Palestinian people have tough and rational resistance movements. 

The "Hijarat Al-Sajiyil battle" has boosted the Palestinian people’s confidence through the Palestinian resistance’s management of the battle and use of fighting methods; the Palestinian resistance stunned all sides with its ability to run the battle in military and security innovations that exceeded the expectations in a way that serves its goals.

On this anniversary, we, in Hamas, state the following:

First: The valiant Palestinian resistance, at the forefront is the Aal-Qassam Brigades, accumulated and developed its fighting ability, imposed new rules of engagement, and fought major successive battles representing immortal heroic epics and approving that it is the entrusted to lead the Palestinian people to achieve their aspirations and hopes for freedom and defeat the occupation.

Second: We salute all Palestinians killed or injured, as well as all martyrs who have fallen throughout the Palestinian freedom struggle.
We hail Palestinian citizens of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories for standing steadfast and rejecting all settlement and normalization projects.

Third: Hamas salutes Palestinian brave detainees in the occupation jails, especially the hunger-strikers who are protesting their administrative detention with their empty stomachs, reaffirming the resistance commitment to release.

Fourth: The occupation enemy has no legitimacy in the Palestinian land. The continuous resistance path extends from Gaza to Jerusalem, fused with the Palestinian masses in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the 1948 occupied land to continue its fight for the liberation of all Palestinian territories and undermine all occupation's Judaizing schemes. 

Fifth: The "Hijarat Al-Sajiyil" battle has constituted a milestone in the history of struggle with the occupation through the management of the battle and use of fighting methods; the Palestinian resistance is ready to assume its responsibilities to protect the Palestinian people and will respond to any encroachment on our Palestinian people and sanctities.

Sixth: We call on all our Palestinian people everywhere in Palestine to escalate all forms of resistance against the Zionist enemy to stop its expansion on the ground and stop the steal of the Palestinian land.

Seventh: We call on the Arab and Islamic nations to true partnership in victory and liberation, because the Zionist enemy is a danger to the entire region.
