Hamas movement and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) held a meeting Thursday to discuss the political developments of the Palestinian cause, inclusive of achieving the Palestinian unity and protecting the Palestinian national project in light of the dangers posed to the Palestinian cause and the popular uprising in Jerusalem, West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and 1948 occupied territories. 

Both movements hailed the escalating uprising and popular resistance and called for more confrontations with the Israeli occupation everywhere and at all levels. The popular resistance in Beita and Kafr Qaddum towns must be a general Palestinian behavior across the West Bank to face off the Israeli occupation colonial settlements that engulf Palestinian territories. 

Hamas and DFLP emphasized the necessity to implement the resolutions taken by the Secretaries-General of the Palestinian Factions, above all the formation of national leadership to steer the popular Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation. 

Both parties also reiterated their condemnation of the British home secretary’s plan to blacklist Hamas, describing it as aggressive against the Palestinian people and their factions, calling on the UK to backtrack on this move. 

They also called for immediate action to restructure the Palestinian Home through national dialogue, with binding outcomes for the participating factions. Such dialogue should result in consensus over a national vision based on a political program that unifies all the Palestinian factions and segments. Other serious endeavors to form a national council either by-elections or consensus are a must at the time being, given that this step is the basis for rearranging the Palestinian political system and leaving away the ongoing political inaction and Oslo Accords’ misperceptions.  

Both parties condemned the normalization deals with the Israeli occupation that accelerate the dangers of Israeli penetration into the region. The Arab people’s stance against normalization or collaboration with the Israeli occupation must be respected, as well.  

Hamas and DFLP called for the enhancement of the joint work to break the Israeli occupation siege imposed on Gaza, without any political price, noting that the Israeli occupation has been bluffing about the implementation of political understandings to ease the blockade and bout the reconstruction of Gaza sectors. The Palestinian parties warned against the Israeli occupation’s delay, as this situation will further worsen the humanitarian conditions in Gaza. 

Both parties also called for intensifying governmental efforts to provide assistance for the most vulnerable sectors in the Gaza Strip that have been hit hard by the Israeli occupation blockade. For example, more job creation programs for the youth and graduates and social assistance by the Ministry of Social Development are urgently needed. They also called on the government to fight monopoly and work towards alleviating the siege in the Gaza Strip. 

Hamas and DFLP agreed to continue mutual work and strength bilateral ties to serve the Palestinian people. 

Finally, both hailed the Palestinian people inside Palestine and in the diaspora, the Palestinian detainees inside Israeli occupation jails, and the families of the wounded and martyrs, confirming that they will remain united in the path of freedom and independence.
