Member of Hamas Political Bureau Sami Abu Zuhri said that his movement highly appreciates Algeria’s invitation for the Palestinian factions to hold a national dialogue in the country. 

In a TV interview, Abu Zuhri stated that the movement welcomes the Algerian initiative, as Hamas is keen on healing the intra-Palestinian split. 

The Hamas official emphasized that the factional meeting in Algeria is a ‘credit’ for the Palestinians and attempts to end the Palestinian division and enhance the Palestinian-Algerian ties. 

Abu Zuhri said that Algeria is one of those countries standing at the forefront of fighting normalizing ties with the Israeli occupation. “Pressure is placed on Algeria, and it pays the price for its honorable stance against normalization.” 

He explained that the national dialogue will be held before the next Arab League summit, pointing out that the movement will contact Algerian officials to arrange for this invitation. 

Any factional meeting is a reinforcement of the Egyptian endeavors ​made in this regard, the Hamas official continued. 

Abu Zuhri also hailed Algeria’s positions in supporting the Palestinian cause and confronting normalization.
