A high-profile delegation from the Hamas movement has arrived this afternoon in Moscow to discuss latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause.
The Hamas delegation consisted of Dr Musa Abu Marzouq, Ezzat El-Rishq, and the Hamas representative in Russia.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Special Representative of the President of Russia for the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, and other senior officials from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Hamas officials briefed the Russian counterparts on the Israeli violations in Jerusalem, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Palestinian people are entitled to resist the Israeli occupation. They noted that the continuing Israeli violations would lead to an escalation.
The delegation also reiterated the necessity to achieve national unity and explained the Hamas’s vision to heal the intra-Palestinian split.
Bogdanov, in turn, said that this visit is part of the Russian endeavours to enhance the bilateral cooperation between Russia and Hamas. They confirmed the country’s stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the Russian preparedness to push for the intra-Palestinian reconciliation.
The Hamas delegation thanked Russian officials for their positions towards Palestine.
