Hamas has slammed recent statements by the Palestinian Authority’s Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein al-Sheikh, in which he said that the PA and the Israeli occupation have been engaged in security negotiations to divide control over West Bank cities.

In a press release on Thursday, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said that Sheikh remarks assert the PA’s commitment to security collaboration with the occupation, deeming the negotiations a stab in the back of the Palestinian people and their intifada.

“al-Sheikh’s statements falsify allegations that the PA was talking to the Israelis to communicate suspending security collaboration.” He underlined.
