Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa stated the following: 
We condemn the poisonous campaign launched by the Palestinian Authority security services in the West Bank city of Hebron ahead of a popular rally set for Friday to mark Hamas' anniversary.  

The PA has used all means of suppression, from arrests to summonses and even closing mosques, to prevent the Palestinians from expressing their support for the option of resistance. 

This poisonous campaign, which comes against the Palestinians' will and serves only the Israeli occupation, is bound to fail in the face of the Palestinian people's commitment to their rights and rejection of political arrests and summonses.

Thus, we call on the PA and its security services to stop political arrests, end their infringement on the Palestinians' freedom and will, and not abolish their right to voice support for their options and will.
       
In this regard, we hail the Palestinian freedom fighters in Nablus who have represented their people's will to defend themselves against the Israeli occupation.
