Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has sent a letter of congratulations to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his country's national football team's victory in the FIFA Arab Cup held in Qatar. 

Haniyeh pointed out that he along with all Palestinians express overwhelming joy at the victory achieved by Algeria's national football team. 

The Hamas chief voiced his movement's deep gratitude and appreciation to Algeria's historic and honourable role in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause and rejecting normalisation with the Israeli occupation, which was evident when Algerian fans and players raised Palestinian flags and chanted in support for Palestine. 

Haniyeh, meanwhile, hailed Qatar for organising this tournament, which embodied a sense of unity among Arab nations.
