A Hamas delegation, headed by Dr. Basim Naim, congratulated the Palestine Christians on the occasion of Christmas.
Hamas official, Dr. Basem Naim, said during the movement's delegation visit to the Church of the Latin Monastery east of Gaza City that Hamas inside Palestine and in the diaspora congratulate our Christian brothers back home on Christmas.
"Our visit is to convey and emphasize the message of love, appreciation, and righteousness towards Christians, wishing them many returns in peace and security," he added.
The Hamas official stressed that all Palestinian people, Muslims, and Christians, are in one trench confronting the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against our Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
"We affirm our solidarity with our Christian brothers, especially in light of the occupation's desperate practices of banning them from traveling to perform their festive rituals," Naim added.
This is a flagrant aggression against our Palestinian people, and a violation of international law, freedom of movement, and religiosity.
The Hamas official hoped that Palestinians, Muslims, and Christians, will be able to perform prayers by next year after they have their homeland liberated.
For his part, the pastor of the Latin Monastery Church in Gaza, Father Youssef Asaad, praised Hamas's leadership visit to the church and hoped that all Palestinians would enjoy peace, justice, and freedom.
"This visit proves the state of our unity, cooperation, and love for the sake of the Palestinian citizens in all of Palestine particularly Gaza,"
he added.
Father Asaad thanked Hamas and all the Palestinians who took the initiative to congratulate Christians on the occasion of Christmas.
