Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh has phoned the mother of Palestinian detainee Naser Abu Hmaid after having suffered a critical health condition inside Israeli jails. 

Abu Hmaid is a cancer patient, and his medical condition has been deteriorating recently.  
The Hamas chief said that the movement works very hard towards pressuring the Israeli occupation to provide medical care for the detained patient and pushes for his release from Israeli jails. 

Hamas sides with the family of the Palestinian detainees, the Hamas chief said. He described the family of Abu Hmaid as an icon of the Palestinian freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation. "The son of Um Naser was martyred, and four of her sons are now held inside Israeli occupation jails." 

The Hamas chief emphasized that his movement and the Palestinian factions bear responsibility for following up on this issue.

Um Naser told Haniyeh that the family counts on the Palestinian resistance to free her son and other detainees from the Israeli occupation jails.
