On the martyrdom of the elderly Omar Asaad, spokesman of Hamas, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Qanou, stated the following:

The death of the elderly Omar Abdul Majeed Asa'ad in the village of Jiljilya, north of Ramallah, after being attacked and tortured at the hands of the zionist occupation, is a heinous crime that requires confronting the criminal occupation in all regions of the West Bank.

As we mourn the martyr Omar Asa'ad, we affirm that the Zionist enemy will pay the price for its heinous crimes against our Palestinian people.

The Zionist occupation's escalated crimes in the West Bank against our Palestinian people require the PA's leadership and its security services to hold their responsibility in protecting our Palestinian people.
