The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” mourns the Icon of popular resistance in Palestine, the 75-year-old anti-occupation elderly Haj Suleiman Hathalin, who died of his wounds after being run over by an occupying forces vehicle at the entrance of Umm al-Khair village, south of Hebron, about ten days ago.

The occupation forces deliberately attacked Hajj Al-Hathlin in a desperate attempt to neutralize his role and influence in resistance.

Icon of the popular resistance passed away after a long journey of steadfastness in his land and confronting the occupation with his bare hands. 

The martyrdom of Al-Hathaleen coincides with the steadfastness of Palestinian Bedouins in the occupied Negev in confronting the occupation's continuous oppression and attempts of expelling and displacing its indigenous residents and imposing the occupation’s control over its land and people.

With his martyrdom, Sheikh Al-Hathalin confirms the unity of our resistance throughout historic Palestine from the river to the sea.

We pray to God Almighty that martyr Al-Hathalin rests in peace, and grant his family patience.
