The Palestinian resistance will force the Israeli occupation into agreeing to a new prisoner exchange deal, member of Hamas Political Bureau Zaher Jabarin has said.

In a televised interview on Tuesday evening, Jabarin pointed out that the Israeli occupation's political leadership "is not serious" about hammering out a prisoner exchange agreement. 

Most of the mediators who brokered talks to strike a new exchange deal, including Swiss, Qatari, Turkish, Egyptian, Norwegian, and German officials, have come to the conclusion that the Israeli occupation was not serious about achieving an agreement at this stage, Jabarin explained.  

"Palestinian detainees are a red line," Jabarin stressed. "This is a clear message. All of the [Palestinian] people, with all of their segments, will rise up in support of the detainees." 

Jabarin noted that his movement convened a message to all countries and human rights groups that all segments of the Palestinian people and resistance are united behind the issue of Palestinian detainees. 

"The Israeli occupation wanted to undermine the Palestinians' victory in the Sword of Al-Quds battle so it resorted to attacking Palestinian detainees and doubling administrative detention orders," Jabarin demonstrated.

Noting that the issue of Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli occupation prisons is on the table, Jabarin said that his movement is fighting a "strategic battle" to end this form of arbitrary imprisonment without charge or trial. 

He added that a national committee comprising of all Palestinian factions in Gaza and the West Bank, in addition to Palestinians in diaspora, has been formed in support for Palestinian detainees. 

As for Palestinian reconciliation, Jabarin confirmed that there is a consensus within Hamas to achieve the intra-Palestinian unity. 

The member of Hamas politburo went on to explain that his movement has taken several steps to accomplish this goal.
