The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas organized on Tuesday a popular national conference against colonial settlements entitled "Colonialism Will Go Down". 

In his speech during the conference, the head of the Hamas media department in the Gaza Strip, Ali Al-Amoudi, said that his movement has harnessed all of its capabilities and components to confront the colonial project on the Palestinian land.

As it expelled the enemy from the Gaza Strip and freed the Palestinian detainees in the Wafa Al-Ahrar prisoners swap deal, Al-Amoudi stressed that resistance is the only way to defeat the enemy and bring the demise the colonial settlements.

Al-Amoudi indicated that the conference comes in light of the occupation's perpetuating of apartheid regime through demolishing Palestinian homes and replacing them with Zionist colonies, colonial brutality in the West Bank, Jerusalem, the Negev, Umm al-Fahm, and other Palestinian lands.

Al-Amoudi called on the Palestinian Authority's leadership to stop its absurd paths of security coordination and negotiations with the occupation, stop arresting the Palestinian resistance fighters in Beita, Jenin, Nablus, and the entire West Bank and immediately release all political detainees.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Barghouti, explained that the colonial settlements have increased sevenfold under the Oslo Accords.

The occupation's settlement expansion process in the West Bank and the Negev, at the expense of the Palestinian people, aims to annex and Judaize the West Bank and all of historical Palestine.

Al-Barghouti called for ending the occupation of Palestine including the Gaza Strip, West Bank, the 1948 occupied lands, and the return of the Palestinian Refugees, and the overthrow of the occupation's apartheid regime in all Palestine.

For his part, member of the Popular Front General Command Political Bureau, Louay Al-Qaryouti, said: "by displacing the indigenous owners of the Palestinian land, undermining and stealing the Palestinian culture, customs, and traditions, the occupation intensifies the colonial settlement and exploits the internal and regional conditions to control the internal land of Palestine, at the heart of which is the city of Jerusalem".

Al-Qaryouti stressed that normalization agreements encouraged the occupation to increase the pace of colonial settlements, steal more Palestinian lands, desecrate the holy sites, and attack our Palestinian people.

"The Oslo Accords and the security coordination approach had a significant impact on the acceleration of the colonial settlement pace," Al-Qaryouti added.

In turn, a leader of the Popular Front, Abdul Alim Da'na, considered that colonization is the core of the Zionist movement to establish the Zionist entity in the whole of Palestine by seizing it, stressing that our Palestinian people defended their land and confronted the Zionist entity's occupation of the Palestinian land.

The conferees affirmed the illegality of the Zionist occupation of Palestine, and that Zionist colonialism is a crime against humanity, indicating that the Palestinian people have the full right to resist the occupation in all forms, as approved by the international laws and norms.

The conferees called on the Palestinian people to confront the colonial settlement and expansion plans and called on the international community to protect the Palestinian steadfastness, condemn the Zionist colonial settlement, confront it, and force the occupation to immediately remove it and punish those who practice it.
