The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Tuesday evening voiced solidarity with Palestinian detainees, particularly the sick detainees in critical condition, in their struggle for their rights.
"The Israeli occupation prison administration's stalling to provide treatment for 500 sick detainees, including 20 suffering from cancer, reflects the extent of medical negligence that the Palestinian detainees experience and the slow-death policy adopted by the Israeli occupation against them," Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa said.
In a press statement, al-Qanoa denounced the arbitrary measures taken by the Israeli occupation prison service against sick detainees as a "crime against humanity" that requires all human rights groups and international organizations to immediately intervene to save them.
The Hamas spokesperson called on all Palestinian people to express their solidarity with Palestinian detainees until achieving their demands and restoring their legitimate rights, including access to medical treatment.
The issue of Palestinian detainees will remain a top priority for the Palestinian factions that they cannot abandon until the detainees' demands are met, al-Qanoa stressed.
