The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourned the death of Palestinian ex-detainee Nihad al-Barghouthi, who was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces during confrontations with Palestinian residents in Nabi Saleh village in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. 

"Al-Barghouthi's passing after two years of detention in Israeli occupation prisons confirms that the Palestinian people are still committed to resisting and confronting the Israeli occupation and will not be deterred by arrests, threats, demolitions, or displacement," Hamas said. 

In a press statement on Tuesday evening, the Palestinian resistance movement offered its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.   

Hamas calls on the Palestinian people to escalate resistance against the Israeli occupation in all forms and repel Israeli occupation crimes and colonial settler attacks against them and their properties.
