Commenting on the horrendous details of the assassination of Palestinian political activist Nizar Banat disclosed by Al-Jazeera's Tip of the Iceberg program, Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa stated the following: 

As it expresses its full solidarity with Banat's family and support of their quest to bring those involved in his assassination to justice, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas renews its call for the Palestinian Authority (PA) to hold accountable everyone who took part in this crime and achieve justice instead of staging a show trial to exonerate or cover up for the perpetrators
    
The findings revealed the extent of the crime committed against a Palestinian citizen who had committed no offense except for raising his voice against corruption that is rife throughout the PA institutions and demanding the rule of law to be reinforced. 

The deliberate assassination of Banat cannot be regarded as an unintended mistake committed by individuals who crossed the boundaries of their mission as claimed by the PA security services. 

It is a crime that reflects the PA security services have gone far in their practices against Palestinian citizens of the occupied West Bank, which violate the Palestinian national norms and humanitarian and moral values.
