Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri has said that his movement informed all concerned parties that banning Palestinian worshippers from accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque or attacking them would lead to an "explosion of the situation."

In a televised interview on Monday evening, al-Arouri added that efforts are being made by the Israeli occupation and world powers to contain any possible escalation in the forthcoming Muslim month of Ramadan.

The next confrontation with the Israeli occupation will mark a turning point in the Palestinian struggle with the Israeli occupation, al-Arouri pointed out.

The deputy chief of Hamas Political Bureau, meanwhile, stressed that his movement has close ties with regional powers and resistance groups.

Denouncing the latest meetings held between Arab and Israeli leaders, al-Arouri confirmed that any step aimed at legitimising the Israeli occupation and normalising ties with it amounts to an "assault on the Palestinian people, Jerusalem, and the whole Ummah."
