The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas praised Tuesday Libya's national fencing team's decision to pull out of the World Fencing Championships in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to avoid competing against the Israeli occupation. 

In a statement, Sami Abu Zuhri, member of the Hamas political bureau abroad, said that this move reflects Libya's genuine and supportive stance towards the Palestinian cause.
 
Abu Zuhri explained that the Libyan national team's decision proved that all attempts to "isolate the Arab and Muslim peoples from the Palestinian cause have not succeeded."
