Ali Akbar Velayati, Foreign Relations Advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has praised the Palestinian people for defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. 

"We are following up your major triumphs and achievements," Velayati told Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in a phone call. "You've set an example for the Muslim world." 

The senior Iranian diplomat said that he has issued a statement hailing the Palestinian national struggle with the Israeli occupation.
 
The head of Hamas Political Bureau, meanwhile, expressed his appreciation to the Islamic republic's constant backing for the Palestinian people, cause, and resistance. 

"Iran represents a strategic asset for the Palestinian people and resistance," Haniyeh continued, reiterating that the Palestinian people will continue to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
