Member of Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Basem al-Za'arir deemed the arrest of Sheikh Raed Salah an Israeli bid to silence voices defending Al-Aqsa and end the Jerusalem intifada.

“Sheikh Salah has become an icon and a model for defenders of Al-Aqsa.” al-Za'arir stated, noting Shiekh Salah’s efforts to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and expose Judaization schemes.

al-Za'arir said that arresting Sheikh Salah will not weaken the determination of Palestinians, calling on the Palestinian people to unite behind the intifada and increase their support of the holy mosque.
