The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has condemned beating mourners at the funeral of slain Al-Jazeera's reporter Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli occupation forces. 

"This new crime confirms that the Israeli occupation leaders and army are gripped by a state of hysteria and madness," Ezzet al-Resheq, member of Hamas Political Bureau, said. 

In a press statement Friday, al-Resheq denounced ordering mourners not to raise Palestinian flags at the funeral and to use a hearse to transport Abu Akleh's body as a "rude act that reflects the atrocious nature of the Israeli occupation."
