The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourns the death of Palestinian detainee Saadyia Matar, a 65-year-old from Idna town in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, who has died due to the atrocious assault by Israeli occupation forces during her arrest several months ago and the medical negligence and inhumane conditions that she had been subjected to in "Damon" prison since her detention.
As we mourn the Palestinian martyr, we hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for her death and for the increasing crimes against sick Palestinian detainees in its prisons.
Matar's death will fuel the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation until liberating the Palestinian detainees.
