The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas welcomes the stance taken by the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches (WCC) condemning the racial discrimination, forced displacement, killings, and homes demolitions, committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians, in addition to the increasing violations against Jerusalem's Muslim and Christian holy sites, land grabs, and banning Palestinian worshippers from accessing places of worship.
We deem this position as new evidence of the scale of crimes and violations by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and their homeland, and Muslim and Christian sacred sites.
The WCC's call for ending the Israeli occupation and holding it to account for its settlement and Judaisation of occupied Palestinian territory places a moral, legal, and humanitarian responsibility on the international community to reverse its double standards policy towards the Palestinian cause and endorse the Palestinians' legitimate rights to return to their homeland and liberate their holy sites.
