Archive records and documents and rental contracts conclusively prove the ownership of Palestinian families of the land allocated by the Israeli occupation for the US embassy in occupied Jerusalem. The Israeli occupation displaced its owners during the Nakba and forcibly confiscated their property in 1950.

We share the original landowners' demand, which coincides with the US president's visit to the region, for the construction plans to be revoked and the land to be returned to its owners.

We stress that confiscating this land under the so-called Absentees' Property Law is a continuation of the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population of Jerusalem.

Being involved with the Israeli occupation in the seizure of this land, the US administration is actually violating the rights of the legitimate landowners, several of whom are US citizens of Palestinian descent.

The administration bears responsibility for the consequences of this move.

Official and popular organisations and human rights groups have to seriously work on restoring the land to the Palestinian families and expose the ploys widely orchestrated by the Israeli occupation to steal the property of Palestinian refugees and deportees.
