Palestinians are Israel's scapegoat
An Israeli woman, who claimed two weeks ago that she was raped by three Palestinians, admitted Wednesday that she fabricated the rape story.
Two Palestinian victims, one of whom is a minor, were apprehended by Israeli police soon after the alleged rape.
Upon spreading, the news caused an uproar among Israelis of whom many have called for revenge.
Although they turned out to be falsely accused of the crime, the occupation will release them with restricted conditions: posting a bail, staying away from Tel Aviv, and the minor will be charged “with being in Israel illegally.”
On his part, occupation prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, strongly condemned the fake rape on Facebook, calling for “strong condemnation” of the incident but soon removing his posts.
"One can only imagine what would have happened if [the victim was an Arab],” Netanyahu said.
Recent polls have shown a rise in hate crimes against Arabs.
The fabricated rape incident comes only days after off-duty policemen joined by Israeli passers-by brutally attacked a Palestinian worker in Tel Aviv.
Last year, an Israeli soldier claimed to have been kidnapped.
Israeli occupation forces then invaded Palestinian villages in Hebron and searched the homes. They even arrested a Palestinian who “confessed” he kidnapped the soldier, who was never kidnapped.
