The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has commended Major General Abbas Ibrahim, the head of the Lebanese General Security Directorate, for his honourable position on his country's maritime border with historic Palestine. 

In a press statement Tuesday, Hamas said that such a stance reflects "Major General Ibrahim's deep sense of national belonging and genuine love for Palestine."   

"The Israeli occupation has no right to the occupied Palestinian territories," stressed Hamas, restating its commitment to all Palestinian rights.   

The Palestinian resistance movement called for a national Palestinian position rejecting the Israeli occupation's theft of Palestinian resources and its infringement on Lebanon's resources.
