The approval by the “Ma’ale Adumim” settlement, which is built on swathes of Palestinian land east of occupied Jerusalem, of a plan to build a hotel and water park, is a new Israeli crime and a blatant violation of all international norms and resolutions, the latest of which was the one by the United Nations Economic and Social Council that called for an end to all forms of settlement activity. 

As we reiterate our rejection of all Israeli settler-colonial and Judaizing schemes that we view as a desperate attempt by the Israeli occupation government to take over and Judaise Jerusalem and detach it from the Palestinian territories, we hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the consequences of its aggression against the Palestinian people and their lands and holy sites. 

Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem will remain steadfast on their land and continue to defend their holy sites until ending the Israeli occupation.
