Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has phoned Chakib Kaid, Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to brief him on the most recent Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.
Haniyeh pointed to the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation during its offensive against Gaza, including the killing of dozens of Palestinian civilians.
The Hamas chief highlighted the surge in Israeli assaults in the occupied West Bank, the latest of which was Tuesday's killing of three young men in Nablus.
Among such assaults are the frequent raids on towns and villages in the occupied West Bank and Israeli attempts to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque, impose the so-called religious sovereignty over it, and divide it temporally and spatially, and the 15-year siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
Hailing Algerian positions in support of Palestinian rights, Haniyeh pointed to the positive outcomes of his latest visit to Algeria.
Meanwhile, the top Hamas official called for activating Algerian diplomacy to confront Israeli occupation’s crimes and support the Palestinian people at the political, diplomatic, and media levels, especially as the next Arab Summit will be held in the North African nation.
The Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in turn, reiterated his country's unwavering support for Palestine and its people and commitment to assume every role required to liberate Palestine.
