Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has sent a letter of condolences to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi after a fire broke out at a church in Giza.

“With deep sorrow, we received the news of the tragic incident at a Coptic Christian church that resulted in dozens of casualties and material damage,” Haniyeh said in the letter.

Haniyeh offered his sincere condolences to the Egyptian people and the victims’ families.

“May Allah keep Egypt and its people safe from harm, shower the dead with His mercy, and grant the wounded fast recovery,” Haniyeh concluded.
