Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem has said that the critical condition Palestinian detainee Nasser Abu Humaid reflects the gravity of the crimes that are being committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against Abu Humaid and his fellow detainees. 

In a press statement early Saturday, Qasem called on human rights groups and international organisations to take a serious and practical action against punitive measures adopted by the so-called Israeli prison service against Abu Humaid. 

The Hamas spokesperson also urged the rights groups to immediately work on saving Abu Humaid from imminent death that he is facing due to deliberate medical negligence in Israeli occupation prisons. 

"Palestinian detainees will remain the backbone of the Palestinian national liberation movement and their issue will remain at the top of the Palestinian resistance's agenda," Qasem concluded.
